Enrichment Tech
Enrichment Tech is an online showcase of interactive enrichment devices for non-human animals with descriptions of how they work and instructions on how to build them. The project was born out of a collaboration between the NM3231 Physical Interaction Design course at the National University of Singapore and the zookeepers at Wildlife Reserves Singapore.
I helped to create a visual identity for the project that includes a logo and a series of banners and instruction manual covers, bringing the array of enrichment devices built during the course together under a common brand.

Random Blends 2018
Random Blends is an annual exhibition organised by the National University of Singapore's Department of Communications and New Media (CNM). It provides a platform for students to showcase projects that blend art, design and technology in interesting ways.
'RE:' was the theme of Random Blends 2018. It alludes to the environmental slogan 'reduce, reuse and recycle' and the widely used preposition in email. The objective was to spark conversations about our relationships with the environments we inhabit, with a particular focus on the natural environment.
My team was responsible for crafting the visual identity and digital experience of the exhibition. We combined fluid shapes, hand-drawn natural illustrations and warm colours to promote messages of environmentalism and open dialogue in a friendly and lighthearted way.
Ridge View Residential College
Located at the heart of NUS, Ridge View Residential College (RVRC) is among several on-campus living programmes at NUS which aim to provide students with a holistic residential and learning experience. The college offers academic courses, industrial engagements and co-curricular interest groups as part of its two-year programme, with an emphasis on experiential learning and readiness for life beyond the classroom.
As a student who joined RVRC in its second year of establishment, I was fortunate to have been able to influence the beginning stages of the college's visual identity. I worked with the college to produce varsity-themed merchandise, and was also involved in crafting promotional material for its 2016 Freshman Orientation Programme, K A I R O S.
The Ridge Magazine
The Ridge Magazine is the largest student-run publication in NUS which aims to engage the student body on pertinent issues across campus and in current affairs, arts and culture and student life.
As Creative Director, I contributed to the editorial design of the 2016 NUS1101 Freshman Kickstart Magazine to welcome new students to NUS and ease them into the next chapter of their academic journey. Spanning a broad range of topics including interest groups, campus accommodation and tips on making the most of their time in NUS, several thousand copies of the magazine were circulated during the university's many Freshman Orientation Programmes.
During my time with The Ridge Magazine, I was also in charge of redesigning its website, where an audit of the old design uncovered several pain points. For example, the home page was filled with text and the content lacked proper categorisation. New posts were also being buried under old ones that had been around for years.
I wanted to create a modern and engaging reading experience that was easy to navigate across all screen sizes. After looking at other solutions that felt similar to what I wanted to achieve, I embarked on the redesign with the goals of:
- Making the content more visually compelling
- Highlighting the publication's range of desks
- Creating a flexible layout that was easy to customise
Although my design is no longer in use, I'm proud of this project because it was my first attempt at hand-coding a WordPress theme in line with responsive design principles that I've continued to apply in my work :-)
